CAED British Columbia Provincial Chapter

The B.C. Chapter is composed of a variety of member companies and provides you an opportunity to network and develop relationships with members that are active in the same industry. We meet several times a year at Northview Golf & CC, 6857 - 168th Street in Surrey, B.C.

• February - Social night dinner at Cloverdale Track & Casino

• April - Golf followed by AGM

We endeavor to have speakers, at our luncheon meetings, that provide timely, informative input on issues that affect our members. The association concentrates its efforts on supporting schools or universities that have programs for heavy duty and/or diesel mechanics. Our support to five institutions has grown where our contributions, sometimes matched by the provincial government, has grown to over $25,000 per institution. This allows our Chapter to provide annual awards in the range of $500.00 to $750.00 per year to high performing students.

We are also supporting the Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, through one of the universities' School of Business, for those graduates seeking careers in sales and management positions.

We are also supporting the Surrey Secondary schools that have Automotive Programs leading into apprenticeships and/or heavy duty programs.

Cost of membership is $330.00 per year in dues. Included in your dues is one seat at each luncheon. Additional members currently pay $30.00 to cover the cost of the meal. Three events each year are �pay as you go', Christmas lunch/auction, Valentines Dinner/ Social Night, Golf and the Annual General Meeting.

We are a non-profit organization and it should be noted that dues do not fully support the association's work.

Our annual Christmas auction is our major fundraiser and is supported by our members and guests who bring items for auction or door prizes. Outstanding in their generosity are the publications; Heavy Equipment Guide, The Supply Post and Journal of Commerce who donate pages of advertising for auction and the Pacific Construction Show who donates booth space at their exhibition.

Our annual Golf Tournament is followed by a buffet dinner and Annual General Meeting. The tournament is a modified "Texas Scramble" format with the emphasis being on the team and not individual performance.
